Finding the intersection between your talent and your interests. Learning to practice self-care and self-compassion. Learning to be yourself unapologetically.

Being happy and feeling that your work and life make a difference. It’s also being able to support yourself and your family and having enough money in the bank to take care of emergencies. Sometimes you have to sacrifice to maintain success (i.e., keeping a job with benefits if you’re the one that provides the health insurance). Some people may believe that you should sacrifice the health benefits and follow your passion, but I believe success is being able to support those I love. And I’m female, so I’m not coming from a male breadwinner viewpoint.

I used to think you had to have a high level job to be considered successful. I think you can be successful at any level - but you should live the life you can afford.
To me, being successful means...
Being emotionally and physically stable while pursuing something you are passionate about.

In high school I compared myself to my "successful" older siblings who took more AP courses than me while also having friends than me. I didn't know how to define myself outside of the standards others had set for me and was very lost. I tried really hard in everything I did but never felt it was enough. I had a terrible eating disorder which almost took my life and my anxiety was through the roof.
To me, being successful means...
To be passionate about what your spending most of your days doing "work". A career that allows you to grow and improve and that your well compensated for.

When I was younger success was more about "stuff or things" - as I've matured it's more and more about how I can help others and improve my skills in my career.

Doing something so that I don't dread waking up in the morning

There used to be money and fame included in my idea, as well as the necessity to go to what everyone told me were the best schools for me.

Having friends and family, being happy, being financially secure, doing something I enjoy
