A little introspection...

To me, being successful means...
Loving life and being able to encourage and provide for others.

My definition of success has changed over time.
It is less of a material target and more of an attitude or state of being.

My greatest accomplishment to date and what I’ve learned from it
Seeking help when I needed it. Connecting with others. I learned a bit about self-defense mechanisms and how to stop or redirect self-destructive impulses.

My biggest mistake or regret so far and what I’ve learned from it
Not spending more time outside my comfort zone when given some really good opportunities to do so. Travel, broad experiences, and new challenges deepen one's engagement with life.

An unexpected event that significantly changed my life and how it impacted me
Onset of a chronic medical condition. It taught me how flexible we are – what was once intimidating and scary just becomes a part of normal life – and it taught me to be more aware of the challenges others are facing.

My favorite spot in or around Palo Alto
